Out of 209 nations, 133 voted for Sepp Blatter to remain as the President of FIFA on May 29 – the fewest number of votes he received since first being elected 17 years ago. The 79-year-old’s only opponent was Jordan’s Prince Ali Bin al-Hussein, who had the support of almost all of Europe’s 53 nations, alongside other notable countries such as United States and Australia. To the surprise of many, the FIFA President announced on June 2 that he would be stepping down on in January, and that departure was accelerated when he was suspended for 90 days on Oct. 8.

With fifa 16 coins the vote for the next president on Feb. 26, 2016, it seems Prince Ali will step up once more. Ali believes “football’s fans and players deserve better than Platini. ” He’ll have to prove he’s better than other challengers David Nakhid of Trinidad and Tobago and Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa of Bahrain.

But the bigger question is this: Who is Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, and why is he the answer to football’s problems?
