Skills

Click on the Skills button in the menu at the bottom of the screen or hit P to view your characters skills.

Learning Skills

Skills become available as you level up. You can upgrade your skills by reading skill books. These books drop from monsters, can be bought, from quests, and other various ways.

Skill Use

Whenever you learn a new skill it will automatically appear on your shortcut bar at the bottom of the screen.  You can use it by clicking on it with your mouse or hitting the corresponding key.

Be aware that each class has a different set of skills. Some of these will require you to click on an enemy before using while others will require you to click on a friendly target.

your Basic Skills can be found by clickin gon the icon that looks like a Sword on the bottom right of you player screen, then clciking the basic tab

Attack
Defense
Gathering
Crafting
Fishing
Cooking
Riding
Reading

Leveling you basic skills:
Attack and Defense skills can only be leveled by reading manuals. these manuals can be obtained in a number of ways.
Drops of Mysterious old books from world boss and Demon prison boss

killing the Fleeing Bandits that spawn at certain times throughout the day on all maps and random channels

buying the attack and defense manuals from the reputation dealers on each map with gold.

GATHERING :
in order to level this skill there are certain plants and items that spawn throughout the maps. you can find a specific item to gather by pulling up you area map and clicking on the gatherables tab and auto pathing to those items.
NOTE 1 : Remember to upgrade your Gathering rank to intermediate at gathering level 20, advanced level 40, master level 70 with Ian outside the south side of Rehling City.
CRAFTING:
in order to craft you must have certain materials obtained from gathering and buying from various shop NPCs in each town center.
in order to craft you need to pull up your crafting page by selecting the hammer looking icon on the bottom right of you player screen.
on this screen you can see all the different sub skills of crafting

Alchemy
Gem Crafting
Cooking
Meta Gems
NOTE 1 : remember to upgrade you crafting to intermediate at crafting level level 20, advanced 40, master level 70 with Shalk in Rehling City
FISHING:
Fishing can be achieved by slecting on the leisure events tab at the top of you player screen. the more you fish the higher you level gets.
NOTE 1 : remember to upgrade you fishing to intermediate at level 20, advanced level 40 ,master level 70 with Brandon outside north side of Rehling city.
COOKING:
this is actually a sub skill of you crafting skill and by using it you will be able to level both skills at one time.
after selecting the cooking skill tab under your crafting icon you will see a drop down menu.
in that drop down menu you can slect either food or drinks
under the food tab you will see a list of foods you can make. each succesive food or drink requires you to be 10 levels higher than the last.
each type of food or drink has a list of the required materials and their ammount to the right on the cooking screen.
if you bring your curser over these items icons it will hint at where you can obtain each needed item.

RIDING:
in order to raise your level of riding you must actually ride or be mounted on your mount and you will gain experience for time spent doing such.
NOTE 1: Remember to upgrade your Riding skill to intermdiate at riding level 20, advanced riding level 40, and master riding level 70 with August in Rehling City.

READING:
to raise you reading levels you must obtain specific title books from looting dust covered books off of montsers killed.
upon opening the dust covered book you will recieve a new book with a specific title. if you meet the minimum requirement you read the book and gain experience and raise your reading level.
note: you can only read each book once and if you recieve a duplicate copy it will be labelled already read. you can find a list of books you havent read under the skills icon and read tab,
Note 2: Remember to upgrade your reading at level 20 to intermediate, level 40 to advanced, and level 70 to master by visiting Catherine in Rehling.
