The enhancement within the mall worked great like the first few times, last 4 times all be failures all with different items all for 49 gold stage two enhancements, I cannot get it to work at all now!!!! That 5*49 (245) gold wasted, I really hating the system right now, if you also throw in a failed advanced searches that came back with trash, trash and more trash for heros, totaling  445 in gold wasted. Why do i spend money of a game that is returning LITERALLY nothing in return!!! I am little ticked off and don't want to invest any more money in this game!
When things already cost super high gold prices (seriously one upgrade 49 gold), then the failure rate been almost 2:1 percent chance (only 2 successful forges up the +4 to +6 range, and 4 failures), I am hating the current system!!!!!!!!!!
Sub-note: used different items to test the difference, and also use on different days to test a limit for the day for enhacne nothing changed!

HIGHLIGHT to this complaint I took it up to customer service and their response was: Hi my friend, Thanks for your question. I\'m sorry to tell you the success rate for the enhancement was about 50%~69%, The higher lvl of the item, the rade will be decreased more. So I cannot do nothing except pray for you, wish your good luck! Enjoy your game!
SO THIS IS A GOOD WAY FOR THEM TO RIP OFF YOUR GOLD, ALL SAID I lost over 250 gold in enhance final numbers were 3 successes and 5 failures at the middle leel range +4 to +6 (250 gold), and 4 out of 10 advance searches (another 200 gold), SO OVER 450 gold WITH NO / yes literally NO result, nothing for it!!!   SO there no warning to players and the customer service is oh well attitude towards player "pray for you" SO please be warned IF other players are experincing similar issues please also post, I think fail rate may be higher for some players!!!
ON a personal note I wouldn't spend another dime in this game until they STOP ripping off players or at least warning them they have a high percent chance of getting nothing in return, the pricing are already so high, to get nothing for returns is ripping players off!!!!!!!

Solution:  Don't upgrade.  Use your gold to do sure-fire things like master craftsmen, instant upgrade and duel.

I am still await from Customer service on the result of the last e-mail to me (posting #3 above), it's now over 48 hours since this progress started. They contact me twice last night  but still no results, and am still awaiting for replies. I agree with the person above, if you are doing anything that requires chance note the odds are good at failured 50%~69% success rate at level ones and get worse with progrssion, is not good odds for 49 gold a hit if you figuring the cost of gold at (950 gold for 100 dollars), that almost 5 dollars an attempt to increase one item, so that can get very costly very fast, with there being HELM, ARMOR, GLOVES, BREASTPLATE, BOOTS, and WEAPON SLOTS your talking alot of money to get any upgrades, And I haven't even considered the TOP up grades costing 199 GOLD each THIS IS ONLY the mid level upgrades, the percent chance must be like 10-15% percent and that cost 20 dollars per attempt per item of real money!!!!! WE are talking upgrade don't forget the 50 gold for advance search for an epic hero, 20 gold to recruit him (assuming you get a lvl 1 on first try which is what you want) and then 3 gold per 97 levels to get him maxed out. and another 59 gold,159 gold and 799 gold to unlock his 3 skill bars, that 1k gold for skill unlockment! Ya a single GOOD, nice epic hero look to spend 2000-4000 in gold mininal (costing in real money 200-400 dollars) ( and this is not the top grade items this is too mid level). AND THERE NO OTHER WAY AROUND TO GET THIS STUFF EXCEPT THROUGH GOLD! IF YOU DON"T SPEND GOLD YOU CANNOT ATTAIN THIS MATERIAL! except for the advanced searches, you can get an epic from escort guardians, it rare but possible, in 25 attempts I got a so/so lvl 100 epic, so it is possible. BUt then again lvl 100 cost another 20 gold in 30 days to keep it.  Don't forget a few little nice thing they throw in, If you general FLees you lose an item off of him!!! which could be costly if it was an enchanted item!!! also cost 10 gold to recruit him back to you! So once you get a epic nice general you have to be very very careful with him or you lose you money AGAIN and possible your general. YA this is a VERY VERY costly real money system!!!

I have to agree with the poster on this one.  The system that is currently in place is an excellent way to lose customers.  If you want to gamble, you go to a casino.  If you pay a large amount of money with the expectation of something in return, then there should be high percentage of return.  The risk should equal the reward.  In this case, it does not.

yeah i failed couple equipements upgrade also... why need success percentage in equipement enhancement while the price of enhance items already different from low lvl upgrade to high lvl upgrade

Its quite stupid. Really. I'm thinking about spending a few quid on this. But instead, I've changed my mind. I used to spend a few hundreds for a game but if this game is so risky. Then. Why would I spend really money for idiotic percentages?

I do agree there has to be a better systems, in place than what they are currently using also the bronze and steel in forging need to be used in the game!!!

Wow! Wish I knew this before I spent 500 gold on enhancements that failed. If they fail rate is not bad enough. When I did get a fail it subtracted 2 enhancement points not just the initial one. This makes it one step forward and two back. So now I have to consider quitting this game based on a policy obviously designed to not only take in game gold but actual cash out of one's pocket and get nothing in return.

Save the gold for master craftsmen.  I don't see how much a good weapon/equipment will help you in the game.

I tried to click the master craftsmen to upgrade my LV17 stone mine to LV18, it costs me 314 gold but will save 764000 resources, i.e. 2448.7 units of resource per gold.  It is far higher than the rate in the black market.

I also agree I will no longer buy gold after finding out I spent almost $7.50 in real life money worth of gold (49) to upgrade a weapon to +5. There is no warning when going to buy the item that this item is a risk and may only work 50% of the time!

From here on out I guess I play using what the game gives me but they for sure lost me buying any more gold from them unless they fix their system, give warnings on the upgrades, and refund the 49 gold which I know very well they will not do. So they have lost a gold customer here for putting in a system that could rip off their players.

Very bad programing but great way to rob your players. Like taking candy from a baby I am guessing.

That is really far from the point that you can do well in this game without money though. This is a game being very sneaky and ripping off your money without any warnings that there is a fail rate on something that actually cost you real money. Now if there was a way of making gold a free way then there would be a reason for them to allow for a fail rate because then everyone has a chance of getting money. However since that is not the case they are ripping of their players who would think that if you have paid for something that you can not make any other way (gold) that when you buy something with gold things should be 100%.

A couple points ...

This game can be a bit rough to learn whether you use Gold or not ... a bunch of golded-up buildings & resource fields can still be raided easily if the person does not know what they are doing.

This game is a beta and there are numerous threads about the high price of gold ... there is also a forum thread which gives stats on how many use gold ... the vast majority do not. While the gold maybe easy to buy in Hong Kong, Malaysia, etc - the price in USD is way too much for the average player.

I have not used gold, have read lots and learned the game by trial & error ... right now I'm about to start my 5th village, have most resource fields up, have good start on infrastructure and this is on a newer server ... so - it can be done. btw, I started Feb 6th

If you used Paypal to buy your gold and lose it to nothing short of online gambling. Use the Paypal resolution center. DO NOT CANCEL THE COMPLAINT! Until your gold is restored. I cannot  state this enough. They will lie to you stating they will restore your gold once you release the complaint. AGAIN DON'T DO IT!!!!! This will tie up their Paypal account on future orders for Paypal has rules they need to abide by to use them. I have letters from CS stating they will replace the gold. This is nothing more than online gambling taking your real money, when doing enhancements? You will get a response like this below. Please understand. If you close it before they restore it then kiss it goodbye.

This game is not here to entertain Its not free its here to make money off the players.  
I will not invest any money in a game that can't even proof read its messages  (bolus  instead  bonus)  give me strength  and  so many other errors.    better off playing Travian   the original game that this cocept is ripped off  from. At  least the it costs only  3 gold to exchange  resources  and   you can instant complete all current reseaches and constructions  for only 2 gold.  
You can play travian without any gold if you want
Bottom line is this game will die soon if they keep the rip off gold rates to do things.
My friends and I are planning to bail out soon if things dont get better.

I can't understand  spending hundreds of dollars per month  playing a static  browser game.
This is poor value
compared to everquest and  starwars galaxies  which is 5 dollars per month   and its professionally  It's  run by sony.

It happened to me 2. Wish I had knew this before I shelled out the 250 gold!!! this is totally unacceptable and it is in fact theft. The game SHOULD say that there is a chance of failure so the consumer CHOOSES to buy it or not. But there isn't. So I demand my gold back or my money back. And I demand that the game tells you when an Item has a chance of failing because this is not game money we are paying... its real cash!!! and it is totally B.S
