S37 Elite Talent, Xiahou Dun


Xiahou Dun is one of Cao Cao's toughest general. He is also one of Cao Cao's earliest general. He is not only physically powerful but also has a very strong will power. He fights for his lord till his death.
Throughout his life, he is a man with principles. If anyone violates his principles, he will fight to death to defend his principle. Xiahou Dun loved to learn new things and respected his teacher very much. When he was young, one day a villain insulted his teacher. His teacher told him to be tolerant, and ignore the insulting. But the insulting was not over; the villain misunderstood their tolerance as weakness and he went further; he insulted his teacher in front of all the students and with ever-increasing intensity. Because the villain’s behavior deeply hurt everyone’s feeling, Xiahou Dun lost his temper and killed the Villain, then fled his hometown; he was only 14 years old at that time.
Later on, Xiahou Dun became a general of Cao Cao, he regretted what he did while he was young. But his determination to defend his principle had never been changed. Xiahou Dun was deeply influenced by his teacher and Confucianism; he respected his teacher and parents very much. Once in a battle Xiahou Dun was chasing the enemy’s general Cao Xing, suddenly he was shot by an arrow in the left eye, he pulled the arrow out immediately, and his eyeball also came out with the head of the arrow; he shouted fiercely, “It is the parents’ blood, how can I throw it!” Then he swallowed his eyeball and caught up Cao Xing killed him with his spear. All the enemy’s generals were shocked by his behavior and fled the battle field.
Xiahou Dun was never a perfect general, but he was a general that has no parallel in Chinese history.
